Week 1 Day 1 - Genesis 1, 2, and 3

The bible wastes no time in proving the existence of God and the story of creation explodes onto the biblical pages like fireworks in the midst of prolonged darkness.

Point to Ponder

The words ''evening and morning'' are used ''six'' times in detailing the beginning and ending of each of the first six days of creation. Of course on the seventh day, God rested and deemed this day as sacred and special. Many want to argue that the days of creation were longer than ''24 hour periods'' but it seems that this does not match up with the words ''evening and morning.''

I wonder how long it may have been before the ''serpent'' tempted ''Eve?'' I have a feeling that he wasted no time in presenting his subtle plan of temptation. Eve would have received her information as to avoiding the fruit of this tree from her husband.

Why did Adam willingly take the fruit of this tree and eat it? He could have preserved himself from punishment by not eating the fruit. Of course, he realized that he loved his wife and he ate of the fruit due to his love for his wife.

Jesus Christ did not have to leave heaven and come down to this sinful world but because of his love for man; he willingly left heaven and came to earth and tasted death for us.
