Our subject tonight is contentment. Contentment has been praised more than it has been practiced. Everyone agrees that it is a virtue. However, not everyone desires to practice the virtue. Everyone wants contentment but not everyone is willing to find it where it must be found.

There are several areas in life where we need to find contentment. I want to discuss those areas tonight.

1. WE SHOULD BE CONTENTED WITH OUR MASTER.

There is uneasiness in life until we come to know Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. But once we have the assurance of our salvation, we should rest in the grace of God.

Folks all around me are trying to find, what the heart yearns for by sin undermined, I know the secret, I know where tis found, only true riches in Jesus abound!

-There were cities of refuge in the Old Testament where a person could seek protection until a matter was settled. We have a refuge in Jesus today and we should be contented in that refuge.

1. Jesus meets the highest demands of my conscience. I cannot go to bed tonight and think of anything I had rather have for my salvation than Jesus. I have studied the other religions of the world and I would not trade the peace I have for any of them. The world's religions are based on works. Christianity is based on grace. I would not trust the best minute I ever lived for my salvation.

-If you have that nagging suspicion that there might be something better or something more than what you have received, you may not have received the Lord Jesus as your Savior.

2. Jesus has made a better person out of me. I am not what I ought to be but I am better than I used to be. You just cannot spend time in the presence of Jesus or with the Word of God without it rubbing off on you.
