Jeremiah 1:5, Proverbs 31:8-9
America is in decline. Look any direction you care to look, and you will see evidence that we are on a slippery slope. Unless God intervenes, America will collapse and fade away and go the way of the fallen nations behind us who turned their backs on God.
-Proverbs 14:34 ''Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.''
-I did some research on the causes for the fall of the Roman Empire. This is what I found out.
There was a decline in morals and values
They had public health and environmental problems
They had political corruption
They had massive unemployment
They had run away inflation
They had urban decay
They had inferior technology
Huge military spending
Can you see some comparisons to the good Ole U. S. A.? One of the symptoms of a civilization on the slide is the attitude and protection provided for the weak in the society. What is their attitude about the unborn, babies, children, and the aged? In our vernacular, what do they think about abortion, child abuse, handicapped, senior adults, and euthanasia?
-God said to Jeremiah ''Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations...'' He didn't say ''Before I formed it in the womb...'' He used personal pronouns.
-I need some interaction this morning. I'm going to give you some examples and I want you to think what you would do in these situations.
Many years ago, there was a preacher and his wife who were extremely poor. They had 14 children. They found out she was pregnant with the 15th child. Would you recommend that she get an abortion?
The father was sick with syphilis; the mother had TB. They have four children: one is blind, one dead, one deaf, and the fourth with TB. She is pregnant again. Would you recommend she get an abortion?
A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her ...
