Intro: We are living in one of the most exciting times in our churches
history. In just a few weeks we will break ground for a beautiful new
building. This building will be a tremendous tool for us to use in
reaching people, discipling them and assimilating them into the church.

I think most of you know that this building is not the church. You are
the church. These buildings could burn to the ground and the church
would continue on. Because the church is no the buildings we build, it
is the people God adds to this body of believers. The buildings we
build are tools to be used by the church.

I don’t know about you, but I am really excited about the future of this
church. The truth is, there is no place I would rather be than in this
church. And I want to say to you once again that I am hoping and
praying God will allow me to spend the rest of my ministry days right
here in this city and in this church. And I praise God everyday that I
have the unique privilege of leading this church into the 21st Century.

I promise you this...My mind is thinking into the 21st Century. And I
am constantly trying to make decisions and build this church in such a
way as to keep us spiritually vibrant and effective in ministry into the
next century. This not a simple task...because our culture is changing
so rapidly. But I really believe the multi-purpose building we will erect
in the next few months is one of the absolutely necessary tools we will
need to do our ministry effectively into the first half of the new
century.
