1 Corinthians 7:10-16
Turn in your Bible to 1 Corinthians 7. The last couple of weeks we've been looking at the super subject of sex. Wasn't that fun?! I'm glad today we get to move on to a much easier subject, which is DIVORCE.
Of course, I'm being sarcastic because we all know that divorce is about as easy as swallowing a live hand grenade without harming yourself. If you were here last week, you know we have hit the part of 1 Corinthians where the Apostle Paul begins answering questions the Corinthian church had about how to live out the Gospel in every day life. Verse 1 says, ''Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me.'' We don't have that letter the Corinthians wrote to Paul, but we can surmise the questions asked by the answers given. Keep in mind there is one major difference between the Corinthians and most of us. Not one Corinthian Christian had grown up in a Christian home. Not one Corinthian Christian had godly parents. That's not surprising because the Gospel should have great impact on our homes.

All have us have failed in many ways. Divorce isn't the worst sin, nor is it the unforgivable sin. Divorced people aren't second-class citizens inside the church or outside the church. We have divorced people in positions of service and leadership throughout our church. And I t ...
