How To Settle Down When You Are Shaken Up

Have you ever come to the place in your life where you have been shaken up? Perhaps you have been faced with a financial problem -- family problem -- physical problem -- job problem -- or relationship problem.
Some have been shaken up by evens this past week -- this past month -- or this past year -- events that have shaken you at the very foundation of your being. You have faced issues and situations that you never expected to happen to you. You have cried out saying, ''I never dreamed that I would ever go through anything like this. What in the world am I going to do?''
Here is Peter and John facing one of those moments. They had just spoken the words of faith that resulted in a man being healed. You would think that everyone would have been thrilled and excited about this miracle.
Instead -- they find themselves in jail -- for the first time...and then called before the religious muckity-mucks who threatened them to stop preaching about this man named Jesus. Now -- after a couple of threats -- they were allowed to go free.
We can see how Peter and John were shaken up and how they were settled down.
I. Fellowship with the Right People
When you are all shook up and you have been stirred to the very core of your being and you are distressed -- it is very important that you fellowship with the right people.
v. 23
They immediately went back to their own people to share what happened. Praise God for a church family that will help settle you down when you have been shaken up.
Not every church family is like that which is a sad testimony to what the true church of the living Christ is supposed to be like.
The church is not a showcase for the saints -- but a hospital for sinners!
If there is one place that we ought to be able to go and share our problems and needs -- it ought to be with our church family without fear of being criticized or gossiped about when we are sha ...
