God's Cure For Snakebite
David Davis
Numbers 21:4-9
John 3:16 is said to be the greatest verse in the Bible. This verse is found in a context that we need to know about. One of the dangers of Bible study is picking a verse out of the context. A text without a context is a pretext. One of the keys to Bible study is to take Scripture in the context with the verse around it.

The children of Israel are in the midst of wilderness wandering. The people in this passage are like so many that are in our churches today. They are ''snakebit.''
I want us to see God's cure for snakebite.
Look again at John 3:14-16
You see -- Jesus is on every page of God's Word.
In Genesis -- He is the ram on Abraham's altar.
In Exodus - He is the Passover Lamb.
In Leviticus - He is our High Priest
In Numbers - He is the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night.
In Deuteronomy- He is the city of Refuge.
In Joshua - He is the Scarlet Thread.
Jesus Christ is in all 66 books of the Bible.
Our passage gives us one of the most beautiful pictures of Jesus when Moses lifts up this brass serpent on a rod in the wilderness. Jesus confirmed this Himself.
I hope that every time you see the symbol in a physician's office -- you will be reminded of what Jesus said.
This message is designed to help you receive God's cure if you are snakebit. It is to help a church to receive God's healing.
You say, ''Do you really believe that churches are snakebit?'' Absolutely! Let me show you why.
Numbers 21:4-5
I. See the Rebellion
In your Bible - write the word Rebellion next to v. 5. Here were thousands upon thousands of people rebelling against God and against Moses.
They rebelled in verse 5 against two things:
1. They didn't like the way they were led.
2. They ...
