Today we continue our series, The Blueprint for the Family. This series has taken us through Mother's Day, Graduation Sunday, and will conclude on Father's Day. We've covered some very important topics and today, we'll handle one that's very difficult but very important. From Proverbs 29:1-27, we'll study Practical Principles for Parenting.
You may know that the book of Proverbs is very practical. It provides principles that can be implemented and applied instantly. It deals with topics such as love, marriage, temptation, money, wisdom, and success. And here, it deals with parenting: discipline, instruction, correction, and direction.
Proverbs 29 is known as the chapter on vision because of verse 18. But today, my hope is to instill in you a vision for your family and your children. A vision for parenting. And let me say before I continue, I need this sermon as much as anyone in the room! READ 1-3, 15-17
*A first grade teacher collected some old, well-known proverbs. She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb, and he or she had to come up with the rest.
