SERMON #6 A NEW ALLEGIANCE
COLOSSIANS 1:24-29

I really believe the profound secret of living life to its
fullest is found
in this wonderful book that is the object of our study and
attention ... the
book of Colossians. So many people I know are living active
lives but
empty lives. And these folks keep adding more and new
activities to their
lives trying to find something that will fill up the emptiness.

But nothing fills that emptiness ... not even religion. Only
Jesus Christ
can fill up the emptiness and make your life full and complete.
That is the
whole point of Colossians.

Col. 2:9 "In Christ dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily
...
(10)"And you are complete, full and satisfied only in Him!"

You see - for the man in Christ, everything has become brand
new!

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; the
old has gone, the new has come!

And I have seen it happen time and time again, when a person
previously had nothing but contempt for the church, once he/she
comes to
Christ, they have "A NEW ALLEGIANCE" to the church.

No one can possibly love Christ and hate the church. 1 Jn. 4:20
says,
"If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar
..."

This is exactly what happened to the Apostle Paul. Remember,
before
his conversion to Christ he:
1.Was a Jewish theologian, a Pharisee, a scholar
2.Was zealous for the Jewish tradition
3.Hated the ch ...
