VI.EPAPHRAS--THE MIGHTY PRAYER WARRIOR
A. Epaphras Was An Associate of Paul's Who Was A Mighty
Prayer Warrior.
Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ
Jesus, sends greetings.
He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand
firm in all the will
of God, mature and fully assured.
Col 4:13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for
those at Laodicea and
Hierapolis.
1.You will remember that Epaphras was evidently saved out
of Paul's ministry in Ephesus (Acts 19-20).
a. From there he returned to his hometown in Colossae
where he started a church in the home of Philemon.
b. Many people believe Epaphras was the Senior Pastor
of the church, and Archippes was an Associate Pastor
who oversaw the church while Epaphras visited with
Paul in Rome.
c. Epaphras had traveled to Rome to enlist Paul's
assistance in confirming the false teaching which
threatened the Colossian Christians.
d. He was such an effective minister, Paul evidently
asked him to remain with him in Rome and he sent the
correspondence back to Colossae in the hands of
Onesimus and Tychicus.
