Colossians 4:7-11
Question: Would you agree that the people you associate with
exert
tremendous influence on your life? ... And that influence can be
either positive or negative?
Because of this it is very, very important that we choose the
right kind
of friends.
Ex: How many of us have seen teenagers, raised in a good home,
begin running with the
wrong crowd AND before long a basically good kid has gotten
himself/herself in deep
trouble and ruined their life?
Ex: How many of us have not found ourselves in compromising
situations when we were
either voluntarily or involuntarily thrust into the wrong crowd
of people--and the
pressure they exerted on us to compromise our convictions was
absolutely
overwhelming?
1 Cor 15:33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good
character."
Prov 28:7 He who keeps the law is a discerning son, but a
companion of gluttons
disgraces his father.
Every disciple of Jesus Christ must be very careful and
selective about
the kind of people he or she chooses for intimate fellowship and
association.
Ex: This is why God commanded the children of Israel to drive
out the inhabitants of
Canaan when they possessed it.
Numbers 33:55 "'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of
the land, those you
allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in
your sides. They will
give you trouble in the lan ...
