THE SCARLET THREAD

Exodus 25.23-30

We are taking a look these days at God's House of
Symbols! And of course I'm referring to the
Tabernacle... that portable house of worship.
You cannot study the scarlet thread through the
Bible without taking a look at the Tabernacle. For
God used the Tabernacle as a way to show the children
of Israel how to come to Him! And as we've seen...
the tabernacle has Jesus all over it.
Do you remember what we saw Sunday morning in
John 5 when Jesus said in John 5.46, "For if you
believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote
about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how
will you believe My words?"
That tells me that you cannot discount the Old
Testament! You cannot ignore the Old Testament
because it is a book about Jesus! In fact... it is
all about Jesus!
So as you walk through the tabernacle . . . keep your
eyes open for Jesus! I see Jesus at the gate... the
only way to God. Jesus said in John 10.9, "I am the
door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and
will go in and out and find pasture."
I also see Jesus at the Brazen Altar . . . for
"without the shedding of the blood there is no
remission" (Heb. 9.22)
I see Jesus at the Laver . . . 1 John 1.9, "If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness."
I see Jesus at the Golden Candlestick . . . for Jesus
said in John 8.12, "Then Jesus spoke to them again,
saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows
Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of
life."
And across from the Golden Candlestick we find
the Golden table of shew bread. We read about it in
Exodus 25.
Now as we take a look at the golden table of shew
bread . . . keep in mind that we are to look for Jesus.
