Mark 2:1-12
CIT: Jesus' authority to forgive sins.PROPOSITION: Jesus' sole authority to forgive the sins should drive the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring men and women lost in their sins to Him, no matter what the cost.
INTRODUCTION:
ILLUS: The following is a dialogue from the once-popular sitcom, Seinfeld, between Elaine and her boyfriend. Elaine asks, ''Do you believe in God?'' ''Yes,'' her boyfriend replies.Elaine asks, ''Is it a problem that I'm not religious? 'Not for me,'' her boyfriend answers.''How's that?'' she asks. Her boyfriend says, ''I'm not the one going to hell.' 'Unfortunately, that is just the attitude of many professing Christians today. They have no real concern for people who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Chp, 1. Vs. 39 Jesus has gone out on a preaching tour of Galilee. In our passage Jesus returns to His home base in Capernaum. This may have been Peter's house. In the midst of this crowd we come across one of the most favorite of all Bible stories, we also come across one of the greatest of all Bible truths.Jesus reveals Himself as God in the Flesh.He demonstrates that he alone has authority to forgive men of their sins.He alone can bring people into a right relationship with the Father.But also in this passage we find a wonderful portrait of 4 friends who brought their friend to Jesus. These men are examples to us of how to be on mission with God in this world. God wants us to bring others to Him. To be willing to do whatever it takes to bring men and women to Christ.We find 4 men who bring their friend to Jesus.

Vs. 1 - It was heard that He was in the house!
Apply: On the way to the house where Jesus was preaching were four men carrying a paralyzed man on a little pallet.
