Take your bible and turn to Revelation 1. This is going to be hard for you to believe because of my trendy style and youthful good looks, but today is my 21st Easter as a pastor of a local church. So 21 Easter's in a row now I've stood before congregations ranging from 40 to 4,000 joyfully preaching the truth of Romans 10:9-10 that says, ''If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.'' The physical resurrection of Jesus is the heart of our eternal salvation.

Today we're wrapping up a series we called 'Snapshots'. We're looked at different word pictures of Jesus given to us in Scripture. We looked at Jesus our Friend, Jesus our High Priest, and Jesus our Passover Lamb. And today, I want us to see a vivid snapshot from Revelation of Jesus Our King.

Do you know what the word 'revelation' means? It means to reveal, or to unveil, or to uncover. The Book of Revelation is the revealing, unveiling, and the uncovering of the Person, Power, and Plan of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes people will say, ''Man Pastor Bob, the book of Revelation is just too hard to understand.'' Well, then it's mis-titled! If it's too hard for us to understand it should be called the concealing of Jesus Christ instead of the revealing of Jesus Christ. But God didn't call it that. He called it the Revelation of Jesus Christ because God is revealing the truth to us not concealing from us. (btw...don't call it Revelations...)

Revelation only becomes a total maze and mystery when we focus on the parts rather than the whole. This book is not about beasts, numbers, marks, dragons, wars, trumpets, curses, and plagues. If you focus on those parts, you'll never get it. This book is about Jesus the King.
