Turn to Revelation 2. When we think of the book of Revelation, we tend to think about all the vivid prophetic imagery of the Anti-Christ, and the dragon, and the beast, and the battle of Armageddon, and the seven seals, and the fierce angels, and the flames of hell and the splendor of heaven. And that's certainly a big part of this book, but there's more to it than that. It's been my experience that many Christians when they study Revelation get so lost in trying to figure out what's going to happen in the future that they miss what God says in this book we ought to be doing today. I'm hoping to avoid that for us.

The Greek word for Revelation is where we get our word apocalypse. Apocalypse means to unveil or to reveal. So the book of Revelation, or the book of the Apocalypse, is the revealing or the unveiling of Jesus Christ in all His glory, in all His majesty, and in all His power, and in all His splendor. I've told you before when Jesus comes back the second time it will look a whole lot different than when He came the first time.

- When He came the first time He came to die, when He comes the second time He will come to rule.

- When He came the first time He came to save of the world, next time He will come to Judge the world.

- The first time He came as a humble baby, the next time He comes He will be a conquering King.

- The first time he came his enemies killed him, the next time He comes he will destroy his enemies.

He won't come to take sides; He will come to take over. So the bible ends with how God is going to end the world, and how eternity is going to be for all those who trusted Christ and for all those who rejected Christ.
