Open your bibles to the book of Jude. Jude is pretty easy to find. Get to the last book--Revelation, go left one book, and there will be Jude. In most bibles, the whole book of Jude is just one page making it more of a postcard than a letter. You might be tempted to look at that and say to yourself 'that's it?' But don't let its brevity fool you. This little book packs a powerful punch. These 25 verses are crammed full of Gospel dynamite, and I intend to do my best to light the fuse and see what happens.

Now as your pastor, I love you, so let me warn you. Some of you will hear the content of these messages and you will get annoyed. Some of you will get aggravated. And if all goes according to plan, a few will get downright angered. Over 100 years ago, William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army, was disturbed by some trends he saw in the church and gave this incredibly specific warning:

''The great danger (to the Christian church) is religion without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell.''

William Booth's warning echoes one made by the Apostle Paul some 2,000 years earlier when he wrote to a young pastor named Timothy.

- For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
