Jude 1: 24-25
Let's open our Bible's together one more time to Jude. This is the 10th and final message from our series we entitled 'Contend'. I'm not sure why, but I've gotten more reaction and feedback from this series than any I can remember in recent history. Most of it has been very, very positive. I thank God.

V3:''I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once and for all entrusted to God's holy people.'' Fight for the faith. Contend, defend, stand for, protect, secure, and guard the truth of the Gospel revealed to God's people in God's Word. Against whom are they to contend?
V4: ''For certain individuals have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.'' The book of Jude is a call to arms and call to action against those within the church who threaten to destroy the church because they believe and preach a different Gospel. A false Gospel.
Here's the problem--False Teachers and Counterfeit Christians might go away from the truth, they don't always go away from the church. Their presence and preaching becomes a threat to the true believers. So, Jude calls on those who have been saved by the Gospel to show their love for the Gospel by defending it and contending for it. Not with fists and guns, but with words and actions.
It's not enough for Christians to spot apostasy accurately; we are to fight against it tenaciously.
There is a very real temptation present among Christians in the American church today to think the Gospel is for beginners, and then we go on to bigger things. ...
