Turn in your bibles to the book of Jonah. It's kind of hard to find, but if it helps it's right next to the book of Obadiah. If that doesn't help go to the Table of Contents. That's not cheating. Pretty sure God's ok with it.
There was a group of researchers who wanted to make a little test to find out how different people think. The test was comprised of one question, and they wanted to take people from different walks of life to see how they would respond to one simple question. The question was 'what does 2 + 2 equal'? The first person they brought in was an engineer. So they asked, ''Tell us, what does two plus two equal?'' He said, ''Well, if you want to know in absolute terms two plus two equals four.'' They took their notes, thanked him, dismissed him, and brought in the next candidate who happened to be an architect. So they asked, ''Tell us what two plus two equals?'' The architect, with a more creative mind, said, ''There are many possibilities. Two plus two does equal four. But three plus one equals four. Two and a half plus one and a half equals four. 3 ½ and a ½ equals four as well. So you have to choose your options.'' They took notes, thanked him, dismissed him and called in their final candidate who was a lawyer. So they said, ''Tell us what does two plus two equal?'' The attorney looked around the room very suspiciously, asked permission to close their door, sat down, learned forward, and said, ''Well, first tell me this, what would you like it to be.''
Lawyers have been the brunt of jokes for a long time now because of the deception they seem to convey a lot of times. But that's the whole point of why it's funny. Lawyers, of all people, should be ones who are the most honest and the most trustworthy. They should stand for the law, and for battle for what is true and what is right.
