Tonight I am primarily speaking to the men and boys of our church about their sexual purity and how to keep it! But ladies... God has something to say to you too!

If there was ever an area of our lives that we need wisdom... it is in this area of sexual purity and keeping it! No wonder Solomon said to his son in Proverbs 8.11, "For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her."

And so on these Sunday nights... we're following Solomon's command when he said in Proverbs 4.5, "Get wisdom! Get understanding!"

So far in our study... we've learned some Wisdom for Parenting . . . Wisdom for Friendships... Wisdom for Wives and tonight... we are learning some Wisdom for Men. And in doing so... I want to talk to you about Sexual Purity and How to Keep It.

Now the Bible speaks very straight about sexual purity. Some people get a little nervous when somebody starts talking about sex. It is like that man who thought it was time to talk to his son about sex. Well... he was a little nervous about talking to him about that subject. But he knew that now that his son was in the 4th grade... it was time.

So one afternoon he sat his son down and said, "Son, don't you think it is time we had a talk about sex?" His fourth grade son said, "Sure, Dad, what do you want to know?"

Well... I commend that Father for his efforts! In fact... he perhaps did learn some things that afternoon from his son. But when it comes to sexual purity and keeping it... Solomon says in Proverbs 5.23, "He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray."

And the instruction we find tonight comes from Proverbs 5-7. In chapters 5 and 6 . . . He deals about premarital sex... in chapter 7 he deals with extramarital sex. Chapters 5 and; 6 deal with fornication wher ...
