The Lord of Liberty
Dr. Ernest L. Easley
John 8.1-11

And what makes the gospel such good news is that Jesus, who is the Lord of Liberty makes available the Life of Liberty!

David describes the Lord of Liberty in Psalm 146.7b, ''The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.''

Paul delights in the Lord of Liberty in Romans 6.18, ''And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.''

Jesus declares as the Lord of Liberty in John 8.32, ''And you shall know the truth, and truth shall set you free.'' And then in verse 36, ''Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.''

Make no mistake about it: Jesus is the Lord of Liberty! He came to set the prisoners free! Paul explains in Galatians 5.1, ''... Christ has made us free ..'' Free from Sin! Free from Self! Free from Satan!
