Harvey hammed it up and suggested that not a single person in their survey of 100 people would answer, ''An illegal drug.'' But, according to their survey, eight people actually answered, ''A joint.'')
They did not survey anyone connected to WHCC, because if you were asked you would have said, ''My faith.'' Right? Passing On the Faith is what Acts is all about! We're in a series called Route 66 and we're Taking a Roadtrip Through the Bible. Today we're in the New Testament book of Acts.
There are 28 chapters in Acts and everything in Acts involves people, events and truth. I can't cover all the events in 26 minutes, but I hope to cover the main personalities and the truth.
I. The Facts in Acts
1st, Acts is the sequel to Luke's Gospel. Luke was a Gentile Dr. with an analytical mind. He was a left-brained scientist who wrote sequentially. He interviewed eyewitnesses and compiled the results so we could believe with a degree of certainty.
Luke and Acts are two of the 27 New Testament books. Those 50 chapters comprise one-third of our New Testament! Luke's scholarly accounts cover the life of Christ and the history of the first century church.
