CIT - The angels announce to the woman at the tomb that Jesus is risen from the dead.
Proposition - We find hope and help beyond the tomb because Jesus is risen.

INTRODUCTION:

History records several days that literally changed the course of history.
In the history of our own county, there are several historical events, days that shook the world.

April 19 1775, 70 Massachusetts Militiamen stand face to face on Lexington Green with the British Advance Guard. An unordered shot rang out, and the American Revolutionary war was under way. That shot has been called ''The shot heard round the world''. That was a day that changed the world.

Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese bombed Pearl harbor, Wake Island, Guam, Malaya, Thailand, Shanghai, and Midway. Forcing The US to enter the second world War. That was a turning point in history.

September 11, 2001 - Two planes flew into the world trade center. Militarily, economically, in the way we think about safety and travel, life has never been the same.

I want us to travel back 2,000 years to a day that was far more significant. A day that changed everything. The day that revealed to us the truth about life and death and eternity.
The day Jesus rose from the dead.

We are going to see that day through the eyes of Mary Magdalene.

I) TELL THE STORY - For Mary, Friday was the day her world fell apart.

She had followed him since the early days of his ministry. Her life had been miserable and evil until she met Jesus. He had cast seven demons from her. For the first time she knew freedom and happiness. Now, along with several other women she had ministered to Jesus as He ministered to so many. She had seen him heal the sick, give sight to the blind, even raise the dead.

She believed in Him. He was the Messiah. He was powerful and humble at the same time. He was strong but yet compassionate. For 3 years she followed him.
