Philippians 3:1-11
CIT: Paul warns the Philippians believers that a right relationship with God is found not through human achievement, but through faith in Christ.
PROPOSITION: Paul warns people today that being right with God is not found in religion, but in a faith relationship with Jesus Christ.
INTRODUCTION:
BACKGROUND: Paul is concerned about Judazing Missionaries who have come to Philippi to convince the believers that they needed to be circumcised and follow the Jewish law along with believing in Jesus to be saved. They wanted to mix the notion of faith in Christ with a legalistic form of religion.
BURDEN: Paul speaks with great fire and authority as he states plainly that men and women, boys and girls are made right with God not through religious activates, not by following the law or some set of rules, but by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone!

Three movements in the text describe to us what it means to be righteous before God, to move from the rubbish of the world to righteousness in Christ!
