How many growing Christians are here tonight? Wonderful! You know .. some people grow up and spread cheer. Others just grow up and spread!

The truth is that not everybody who grows old .. grow up! But how our heavenly Father longs to see His children grow up! And I trust that you've made some spiritual progress this year! That's what Paul's talking about in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2.

As we continue our study of the book of 1 Thessalonians, join me in chapter 2. We come tonight to verse 13 as we discover ''The Signs of a Growing Christian.'' And when a Christian is growing, the church is growing! And when the Christians stop growing, guess what happens to the church?

That's right .. it stops growing. Now I suppose the church could continue growing numerically. I mean .. the church can grow numerically without growing spiritually. But it can't grow spiritually without growing numerically!

Now you claimed by lifting your hand a moment ago that you consider yourself a growing Christian. So let me ask you growing Christians a question: how do you know that you're growing? How do you determine if you're growing or not? Can you measure spiritual growth?

Well .. let me say before we read these verses that you can measure spiritual growth! You can know if you're spiritually growing! And that's what I want to talk to you about tonight: ''The Signs of A Growing Christian.'' I want to show you how you can know if you're growing and if you're not growing .. what stimulates growth!

Let's begin reading in verse 13 and read down through the chapter as we think together about,

''The Signs of a Growing Christian''

1 Thessalonians 2.13-20

So .. what are the signs of a growing Christian? What must take place in our life for growth to occur? How were the Christians growing there in the church of Thessalonica?
