CIT - Jesus calls out to the crowd at the feast of Tabernacles to come to him to find true satisfaction in life.

Proposition - Spiritual thirst can only be satisfied by Jesus Christ.

INTRODUCTION:

ILLUS: Years ago I heard about some men who were on a certain sailing vessel. They had run out of drinking water and they were about to perish. Suddenly they cited another ship on the horizon. For the first time in a long time, they felt hope. They sent a message to them.
They said, ''Do you have any water? Send us some water, for we are about to perish.''

I think a lot people in the United States and right here in Shreveport feel that they are about to perish. But not from physical thirst, but a deeper spiritual emptiness. In 2015, an economic study co-authored by Anne Pace with Angus Deaton found that white working-class Americans are also increasingly dying earlier than before. The biggest factors behind the uptick in mortality among white middle-aged Americans are so-called ''deaths of despair'': deaths by suicide, accidental drug overdose, alcoholic liver disease and cirrhosis.

White, middle aged Americans are some of the most prosperous people to have ever lived on planet earth. But homes, cars, vacations, retirement accounts, hobbies, and entertainment are leaving people thirsty. Wondering is this all there is to it? Is a pointless life even worth living.

What is the answer? Seth - test he didn't know the answers to - he wrote Jesus. Jesus is always the answer dad! Well - in this case He is.

Scripture is clear. ALL WHO ARE THIRSTY, COME TO JESUS, AND RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.

This is the key, the secret, to finding satisfaction in your life. We are going to break that sentence down, break this verse of scripture down and understand who to find satisfaction for our souls.
