Jesus' Zeal (2 of 14)
Series: Jesus' Glory
Steve Jones
John 2
Sermon Summary: The cleansing of the temple reveals the glory of Jesus' zeal. He shows us four ways to ''turn up the heat'': 1) Move it. 2) Own it. 3) Test it. 4) Whip it!

Are you at 212 degrees right now or are you a degree or two below that? Maybe you're even ''Cold as Ice!'' ''Boiling zealous'' is where God wants us. But it's not where a lot of us necessarily are.
Spiritually speaking do you ever feel lukewarm or even cold? Look at this clip from Trolls. It's a picture of ''Bergen-town'' where the Bergen's live (duh) and their lives are characterized by misery. Do you ever feel like you're trudging through a spiritual waste-land, just putting one foot in front of the other instead of living the ''abundant life'' promised by Jesus? How can we get our zeal back? How can we turn up the heat?
We're in a sermon-series entitled ''Signs'' based upon the statement of John in John 20:31 ''These (signs) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.''
In our last study, the disciples got an initial glimpse of Jesus' glory when He turned the water into wine and they believed in Him (John 2:11). They had already believed in Him, but when they saw more of who He really is, they believed in Him again, in a deeper way. After Jesus' resurrection when the disciples rememb ...
