In Stephen Covey's Classic book ''The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People'' habit #2 is to ''Begin with the end in mind.'' He starts with an imagination exercise. You are to imagine a funeral, but not just any funeral, YOUR funeral. Covey asks us to imagine the eulogies that are given about us. How do we want to be remembered? And then work backward from there to incorporate those values into our lives now.
We're going to learn some life lessons from a funeral today, but the lessons we're going to learn are far more valuable in the long run than anything from Holly Hunter or Stephen Covey.
Jesus went to the funeral of his friend Lazarus and performed a miracle. His greatest miracle to date, the resurrection of a dead man. In the process, he made his fifth ''I Am'' statement - ''I am the resurrection and the Life.'' Just what does that mean? And what does it mean to us? Two life lessons today.
