A few years ago I was traveling from Texarkana back to Houston to visit family and friends, and that's about a five-hour drive or so. And I was by myself, and so, when I travel by myself, I listen to sermons, and I listen to music, and I sing. I'll call people that I haven't talked to in a while, you know, to pass the time. And I pray. And so I was driving along and not really paying that much attention to things that are kind of important like speed limit signs. And I got through Atlanta, and then I went through a little place called Linden. Anybody ever been to Linden? Yeah, to the courthouse in Linden, there's some of you. So I'm driving along and, all of a sudden, I look in my rearview. I hear the sound. I see the lights. Who-o-o-. And I said, ''Crud!'' Looked at my speedometer. I think I was going 70 something, you know. And so I pulled over. The officer gets out of his car and he comes to my car and he said, ''Do you know why I pulled you over?'' I said, ''For good merit? I mean, I'm not sure, you know. You want to reward me?'' No! I said, ''Well, no.'' He said, ''You were speeding.'' I said, ''Well, I thought it was 70.'' He said, ''It changes in Linden.'' I said, ''Yeah, okay.'' And so gave him my license, and he took it back to the car, checked for warrants or whatever he does. And then he came back and he said to me, he said, ''You a pastor?'' I said, ''Yes, sir.'' And he said, ''Do you know so-and-so?'' And he named somebody in our church. I said, ''Yes, sir.'' He said, ''That's my sister.'' I said, ''She's a very gracious and merciful person, officer'' (laughter). I didn't really say that. I thought it. He said, said, ''I don't believe my sister would forgive me if I gave her pastor a ticket.'' I said, ''No, I don't ...
