Assurances in Life's Anxious Moments

Psalm 3:1-6
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom, his son.}
LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me.2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.3But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.
The Psalms this morning is a Psalm of David when he is living in some anxious moments of life. Sometimes in life, there are days when life is nothing but anxiousness. You try to walk in obedience, trust, and resting on His word. And without any reservations you should, you quote those passages of faith and assurances, casting all your cares upon him for he cares for you, you recite that passage, be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.
But in the real world, our human holiness does not always get what we desire or what we should.
Here is a biblical example, David the anointed servant of God, David the giant killer and victorious leader of armies and powerful King of Israel, David a worshipper, a writer of the Psalms, a musician who praised God on his instrument, finds himself in life's moment of anxiousness.
Living right, and walking in the word, and trying to maintain a consistent prayer life, will not eliminate or exclude any of us from a season of anxiousness. Sometimes we are suspended between not being sure and asking Lord, what's next now?
We can identify with that line in that song, ''it seems like each moment so madly is threatening. It seems like the waters of worry will drown you, the billows of burdens are tossing you high. The wrath of life and living can ...
