Back in 2004 Boeing tested 10 new planes at Seattle's Boeing Field. Problems developed in 10 of the planes tested. While mechanics inspected the engines' intake with flashlights they found tiny reflective glass beads about the size of granulated sugar coating the inside of the engines. They identified the beads as the reflective ingredient in the paint used to mark the runway lines.

Officials walked the tarmac and found one section where the beads were separating from the paint on the tarmac that had recently been repainted. A defect in the paint allowed the beads to be sucked into the jet engines as they powered-up for take-off. The cost of that paint job...$50 million.

Intake, what is pulled into or absorbed, by an engine can destroy the engine. When something foreign to the inner-workings of an engine (of any kind) is pulled in, it will eventually damage the engine's effectiveness or cripple the engine altogether.

That's not only true for an engine but a business or organization as well.
- A bad product, installing the wrong CEO, pursuing the wrong vision or adding management with poor attitudes can have a detrimental effect on a company.
- These type of issues, which amount to bad intake into the inner workings of an organization, will gum up unity, derail direction, hamper productivity and ruin any hope of success.

The same is true for churches as well. What we take in can lead to success or failure.
