STAND FOR THE TRUTH
Stephen Whitney
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

John Wesley is known for reaching the masses in England with the gospel by preaching in the open fields to miners who did not care about the church and thousands were saved. He preached in jails, in the inns to travelers and on ships crossing to Ireland. At a natural amphitheater in Cornwall he preached to 30,000 at one time. When he was refused admission to his father's church he stood on his father's tombstone to preach to the hundreds there.

What drove him to see people repent of their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior? It was his own experience of experiencing

the change which God makes in the heart through faith in Christ,

had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me.''

Beloved - Gk. to love dearly and sincerely.
Matthew 3:17 When Jesus was baptized, a voice came from heaven, ''This is my beloved Son, I whom I am well pleased.''
God the Father dearly loved his Son who would be our Savior.

It is used of the special relationship God has with believers.
