Genesis 1:1-31
Take God's Word please and turn to the first book in the Bible, the book of Genesis. We learn what this book is all about from it's title. The word ''Genesis'' means ''origin source, to give birth.''
And that friend is what the book of Genesis is all about! It is the book of origins. It is the book of firsts! You find within it's pages the beginning of creation, man, woman, Sabbath marriage, family work, sin...murder!
But may I tell you that the book of Genesis is not only the book of firsts, it's the book of foundations! If you plan to build a building that will withstand the tests of time, you better make sure that the foundation is solid and sure!
And if you plan to build a life that will withstand the tests of time, you better make sure that you have a firm foundation! If you plan to build a marriage that will withstand the tests and trials of life, you better make sure that you have a firm foundation!
So, for the next several weeks from the book of Genesis I want to show you how to build your life and home on a firm foundation! How wonderful that God has given us these Foundations for Life!
Now, let's look together to Genesis 1. We're thinking this morning on this subject:
We're thinking about The Miracle of Creation and I want you to see what makes creation such a miracle.
(1) THE DESIGNER OF CREATION.
...and that makes creation a miracle!
The first book and the first chapter and the first verse introduces us to All Mighty God! It's no wonder that the Devil hates the book of Genesis! Friend, if you abandon the first chapter of Genesis and you consider it mythology, the Devil has won!
If you cannot trust God's account of creation, then how can you trust God's account of salvation? If you don't believe what God says about earth, then how can you say that you believe what God says about Heaven?
