On every interstate highway there are blue motorist service signs. These signs inform drivers of the next exit for gas, food, or lodging. If you've ever been on a long road trip, you're really grateful for those signs along the highway, especially when you need a rest area. (Are you with me?) Those little blue reminders are especially helpful when they warn you: ''Next Exit for 30 miles.'' It's a reminder that if you don't turn off now to get gas or whatever, you may not get another chance.

In today's text we run headlong into humankind's last chance to turn to God-to repent. Repentance is simply a change of mind that leads to a change of direction. When we turn to God we acknowledge our sin and turn to the Savior, Jesus Christ. If we fail to repent, we will inevitably face God's judgment for refusing His gracious offer of Jesus.

This message is entitled: ''The Super Bowls!'' However, I won't be preaching on football. Rather, I will be preaching a message on ''The Super Bowls'' that are found in Revelation 16. These bowls are God's Super Bowls, and they refer to wide, shallow bowls much like saucers used in Old Testament offerings. These judgments are both impressive and bizarre. They are both intense and horrible. Everything starts to die. The seal judgments destroyed a quarter of the earth and the trumpets judgments a third of the earth. The bowls, however, will affect the whole earth. Moreover, while the seals and trumpets affected the people indirectly, the bowls are poured out directly on humankind. Thus, this message resounds like a crashing cymbal: Follow Jesus or face future judgment. Let's examine the bowl judgments and their significance to our lives.
