A Message for Encounter Christian Church
We are in a series called ''Free Indeed'' and today we are bringing to light the ministry of the Holy Spirit as the FREEING AGENT in a believer's life. Jesus said, ''you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free'' - that is an ongoing liberation that takes place in the believer's life as he/she believes and puts into practice God's Word and the Holy Spirit is leading them into all truth because He is the Spirit of Truth.
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
As He guides you into more truth, He brings about more freedom in you.
Here's the verse we love to quote:
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Because of the Spirit of the Lord living on this inside, we have been set free on the inside. We've been freed from slavery. We've been freed from fear. We have been freed from religion. We are not bound by the law, rules and regulations. The Spirit of freedom now lives in us. I once was lost but now I am found, I once was blind but now I see, I once was bound but now I am free. We have come from slavery and we are coming all the way into full freedom.
But there is a further freedom that many Christians have not yet experienced.
THE SPIRIT IS PROCLAIMING FREEDOM TO YOU AND IN YOU
Isaiah 61:1 ''The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Before we can take a message of freedom to a world that is lost and bound in sin, the Holy Spirit must first bring that liberty to us! He ...
