2 Corinthians 5:15
Our key verse for this series: 2 Corinthians 5:15 ''...He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.''
Over the entire month of April, we have been talking about the events that Jesus went through from the beginning of His passion in the Garden of Gethsemane to his betrayal, arrest, and suffering, to His crucifixion and death, and to His burial and resurrection. Last week we talked about the empty tomb, the eyewitnesses that physically saw Jesus after his resurrection and the fact that the story of Jesus rising from the dead could not have been a hoax. We gathered the evidence and found that it would have been impossible for them to steal the body of Jesus out of the grave. But the overwhelming evidence of His resurrection was in the fact that His disciples were willing to lay down their very lives for the One that gave His life for them and rose again. If there was no resurrection, the Christian church would've never emerged. And here we are 2,000 years later still following this risen Jesus. He is still transforming lives. In the Ascension, the Resurrected Jesus who is scripturally called ''our High Priest'' brought His own blood before the true altar, that is in heaven. This is what completes the sacrifice, and the full forgive ...
