The text this morning is that powerful and personal story about a woman with issues. This woman did not have just one issue, the constant bleeding for twelve years (believed to be from her uterus) was just the beginning of her issues. She had multiple issues because of the unresolved issue of the bleeding, and other issues had developed. That is what happens in life when issues cannot be resolved, other issues get attached to the issue, and consequently, we are overwhelmed.
Because of the Law of Moses, she was declared unclean according to the Levitical Law (Lev. 15:19). Therefore, she was isolated, that was an issue. She had been isolated from people (who were ''clean''), and family for 12 years because she was deemed unclean.

So, without a doubt that created for her social issues, she has lived in isolation and segregation. Because of that, she was not privileged to gather in worship with others, and now she has a religious issue. The law kept her out of worship, out of serving in ministry. She had been excommunicated from the Temple/ Church because she is not as right as the others.

She had tried to resolve her issue by going to doctors after doctor to see if anyone had a cure for this bleeding that would not stop. But she had grown worse and not better. So, she was getting physically worst. So physically she was declining, that was without a doubt physical issues.

And then she had spent all her money on doctor's, cures, hospitals, tests, she had emptied her 401 plans, her savings had been depleted, she was broke. And because of that, the doctors would not treat her, so now she has a financial issue.

And you cannot but help to believe that because of the social exclusions, the religious oppression, the physical decline, and the financial impoverishment, she probably had developed some emotional issues.
Because issues that just continue to pile up on your plate, that just continues ...
