There is an old song, its title is: There is Power in the Blood...(We just sang it, because it really nails it).

Maybe I should make a 'rating' of the message today...maybe it should be rated at least PG-13 or R since we're going to be talking a lot about BLOOD...

But most importantly, we're talking about The Blood of Jesus Christ...

Do you realize that this ONE phrase literally wraps up what is really the most essential doctrine of the New Testament? The Blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses us from all sin...the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Without the Blood of Jesus Christ, we would still be offering sacrifices in the ancient Jewish tradition. Without the Blood of Jesus Christ, we would be more concerned with keeping religious in an attempt to gain and stay in God's favor.

And unless Jesus is forever emphasized in our preaching, and in our teaching, and in our very living, then we slip onto the downward slope of accepting Christianity as just another religion, just another way of life; just another philosophy that only talks ABOUT Jesus...so unless the Person of Jesus Christ is not in the forefront of everything we say and everything we do, then we have nothing at all.

When we do good works, helping the poor, counselling someone, doing missions, inviting people to LifeGroup, inviting people to church, conducting a Bible Study, and yes, even preaching on Sundays...Jesus MUST be there in it.

Christian Preaching has to have Jesus as the answer...it's not about memorizing psycho-babble...it's not about coping with life by repeating some catch-phrases like 'just elevate yourself.' It's about Jesus being the ONLY answer, because Jesus shed His Blood to pay the price for our sin so that not only the sin debt being paid, but so we could have everlasting fellowship with God, and so that our joy could be complete.
