Heart Cry for Revival

There are things in life that will forever remain a mystery. There will always be questions begging for an answer which is something on little Catholic boy discovered while attending church with his Baptist friend. The two had agreed to go to each other's church and visit. The little Baptist went to the Catholic service first and had a lot of questions about the beads, Mary, the robes and the rituals. His Catholic friend explained the symbolism behind each religious ritual. The next week the Catholic boy went to church with his Baptist friend and found things almost as confusing. They had baptism and he had never seen a baptism like that so his Baptist friend explained what baptism meant. When the pastor stepped to the pulpit to preach, he took off his watch and laid it on the pulpit and the little Catholic boy asked, ''What does that mean?'' His friend replied, ''Absolutely nothing.''
For Christians and churches revival, renewal and spiritual awakening seems to be one such mystery.
1. Plan for them - set dates for them (always have an ending date - are we really expecting God to move in a meaningful and lasting way?)
2. Call preachers to come - put their faces on flyers, on screens and newspapers - as if a picture a preacher is going to help attendance.
3. Plan special, special music, have special prayer times - we try to ratchet things up a few notches - we come with a greater sense of anticipation - it becomes the spiritual playoffs.
4. We should treat every Sunday as if it were a Revival or Super bowl Sunday.
5. We should put in the personal prayer and effort each week that we put into revival.
6. I give you my best every week. There are many weeks I would like to be more prepared in study and prayer but I come to give my best each and every week.
