In our sermon today we are going to see how favoritism between mom and dad will ruin the siblings. Isaac and Rebekah are both seemingly madly in love, but upon having twin boys, it seems their relationship sours. Isaac favors Esau and Rebekah favors Jacob.
Favoritism comes in many forms and though it is often subtle it is still dangerous and destructive to the family structure.
- Birth Order
The oldest is favored due to his being the first born or the youngest is favored due to being the baby. Often the middle child will be woefully overlooked.
- Gender
If the family has four daughters and one son, more than likely the boy will be favored and coddled or just the opposite.
