How the Lord Feels about Children

Matthew 19:13-15
Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, ''Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.''
15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
NKJV
Someone once asked Babe Ruth why he got along so well with children and his answer was, ''Because it's really easy for me to get down on their level.'' Despite being a big star, if not the biggest star of his day, the Babe was in many ways just a big kid himself. Because he thought like a kid he knew what kids needed and wanted from him and he was able to give it.
While I hate to compare Babe Ruth with Christ, Jesus is also someone who understands kids and is able and willing to get down on their level. It goes without saying that more than anything else He wants them to know Him as their personal Savior. I don't suppose there is anything that makes heaven any happier than for a child to come to personal faith in Christ.
These three verses are very revealing about how the Lord feels about children. Shouldn't we feel the same way about them as He does? I think we should.
JESUS BELIEVES CHILDREN ARE WORTHY OF HEAVEN'S BLESSINGS

Children need to be loved and appreciated but more than anything else they need to be saved. Every child eventually arrives at the age of accountability and should be provided with an opportunity to be saved at the earliest possible age. This is what V.B.S. is all about. Sure there is a lot of entertainment but the Gospel message they hear during V.B.S. wee ...
