Warning labels, signs and various types of alerts and alarms are very much a part of our everyday lives though we may not even realize it.
1. Whenever you are in a car and are traveling every road sign and signal light you see is a type of warning and alert. They tell you to be careful because there may be sharp curves. Steep inclines/declines, pedestrian crossings, school zones, children at play or a school zone. To ignore them is to invite danger to yourself and those around you.
2. Weather alerts. I receive a call on my home phone and mobile whenever there is bad weather approaching. It lets us take appropriate action to protect our lives and our property.
3. Work places all have be yellow warning signs all-over. They don't want you sticking your hands, head and feet where they don't belong. They let you know about things you have to do or need not do in order to stay safe.
4. We even have warnings and alerts that let us know about the potential for fraud - which is somebody else stealing from us through deceit what is not theirs.
All of these warning signs are intended to keep us safe and benefit us. They make us aware of hidden dangers that we may not see or recognize until it is too late. Warnings can be the difference between life and death, safety and harm or even gain or loss.
When it comes to protecting our faith and spiritual health we need to pay attention to the warning signs that Scripture places before us because there is always the danger of being the victim of spiritual fraud and losing our blessings.
The enemy loves to deceive and trick us into giving up or forfeiting what is ours in Christ for something that is inferior, temporary and unsatisfying. Satan is so sly.
