Colossians 3:8-17
I ran across a story one pastor shared about the small town he grew up in and the wealthiest and most influential man in that town. Before the town started to boom and blossom this man owned most of the property and business in the county. As the town started to grow and expand this man subdivided and sold most of the land for neighborhoods, business and schools to be built. As you can well imagine he made a lot of money in the process.
This man also owned the country club and golf course in town. One day he was out walking around the club and golf course and he was kind of bumming around a little bit. To say he was dressed down would have been an understatement. He was very shabbily dressed. While he was walking around one of the new security guards, who did not know him, saw him and mistook him for a vagrant trespassing on private property and did not believe the man when he tried to convince the guard that he was the owner of the club. The man too him down to the police station to have him arrested before being informed of who the shabbily dressed older man really was. Needless to say a new town and a career change were in this young guard's future.
The man was the owner but he did not look and did not dress the part and for that reason could not convince another person that he really was who and what he claimed to be.

I have always heard it put this way...If you were on trial for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you.
Over the last few weeks we have learned that we are a new creation and have been given new life and that we have been called to a new affection, a new focus and ...
