Sometimes the truth is right in front of us and the indisputable crumbs of evidence surround us and yet we refuse to accept or acknowledge the truth. There are always consequences for deliberately and knowingly rejecting the truth and choose a lie. No more doughnuts for you.

Today, we are going to look at some religious leaders whom Jesus confronted with the undeniable truth of the Gospel and who refused to believe. In response to their rejection Jesus gives a frightening and sobering warning. He warns about a point of no return, a sin, or a place we can reach for which there is no remedy, no cure and no forgiveness.

Matthew 12.22-32

The people in Jesus' day had a front row seat for a lot of amazing things.
- They were privileged to see miracles take place in front of their eyes. Jesus was doing things that had never been done before. The impossible and unthinkable were now a reality.
- People were healed. Early in this chapter a man with a withered hand was healed. Here, in the verse we read, Jesus performs a triple healing. He healed a man who was blind, mute and demon possessed.
- These were undeniable miracles. This stuff doesn't happen every day.

Whether it was this three-pronged miracle or the cumulative effect of all Jesus had done the people were astonished. They were blown away and started asking the question, ''Could this really be the promised Messiah/Savior?'' They were beginning to seriously consider the possibility that Jesus was God's Son sent to save the world.
- The evidence was there, the miracles and healings.
- Jesus's teaching was like nothing they had ever seen or heard.
