We are in a brand-new series called ''UNCOVERED: Revealing the Truth of the Holy Spirit.'' We learned last week that the Holy Spirit was not introduced in the book of Acts but in Genesis chapter 1, and all throughout the Scriptures we see the work of the Holy Spirit. As we study together the work of the Holy Spirit in the church, we can see how He works in, on behalf of, upon, and through the believers in Jesus.
If we want an accurate picture of who the Holy Spirit is and what His ministry looks like in the church, we should study the book of Acts. I love how the book is called ''The Acts of the Apostles.'' The one truth that we already know is that none of what we read in this book is about what the Apostles did in their own power. The book is about what the Holy Spirit did through the Apostles. The book could be called The Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles. Remember Jesus said to them, ''These works shall you do, and Greater works because I go to My Father.'' What was the expanse of Jesus' earthly ministry? He was limited physically with how many people He could reach. Jesus did heal all those that came to Him, but the reach of His earthly ministry and mission was intended to be accomplished through the Apostles AND all those that would give their lives to Him as servants in His Kingdom, where there would be no limits geographically and chronologically.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
But now there is no limit to how many can be reached. We are no longer limited by time or space. That's why Jesus said,
Mark 16:15...Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
