This is now the 4th and last installment in our series ''UNCOVERED: Revealing the Truth of the Holy Spirit.'' We've talked about Who the Holy Spirit is, how the Holy Spirit moved upon people in the Old and New Testaments, and we've talked about the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. We haven't yet talked about all the GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Let's talk about Gifts. Shall we pray?

When we talk about gifts in general, there are 2 types.

The first are the God-given talents we were born with, like musical abilities or giftedness in certain arenas of education, like math or languages, or incredible physical talents in sports, like baseball or track and other sports.

The second type of gift is something that is given to us without a charge attached to it, like a birthday present. The gifts of the Holy Spirit come from the Holy Spirit and are not charged for or earned, they are given.

What are the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

Why do we need the gifts in the church?

My first answer is what's a birthday party without the gifts? The gifts of the Holy Spirit are supernatural endowments that He uses to carry out the ministry of the church.
