Introduction
What does it mean to impact one's culture? What does it mean to lead one's country to God? How do we transform our surroundings? Our city? Our country? Our world? These are questions that we ask and wrestle with constantly, and we're not alone. Churches everywhere throughout the world talk about impacting the culture for Christ, changing one's community. This is a very real, very important question. Right? I mean I imagine only very few among us would say we shouldn't care too much about our city and community. I think we're all in agreement for the most part that we want to see Littleton and the entire 85-95 corridor impacted with the Gospel.
But how does that really happen? Right? That's the struggle, that's the hard question. That's the question producing hundreds and hundreds of books and conferences today. You hopefully shouldn't have too hard of a time persuading a church with the Scriptures that we should be impacting our community with the gospel. The challenge is in showing a church how to impact its community and then actually getting them to do it. Right? So that's my challenge this morning: to show you how you and we can actually impact this community with the message of Jesus Christ and then to prayerfully petition the Spirit to convict you and to convict us to put these things into practice. And so, I just want to state it up front this morning. By the end of our study of Acts 19 I hope that you will see how Lake Gaston Baptist Church, the people of this assembly, can see the 85-95 corridor transformed through the Gospel and that you will be convicted and led by the Holy Spirit to leave this assembly and go do it.
