Heart to Heart
Philippians 2:9-11

For several Wednesday night I'm going to take a
little bit different approach. I'm not going to do a
sermon, as such. You might want to call it a Bible
study. I'm just going to call it a "heart to heart."
I'm just going to share my heart with you. The format
is a little bit different. The presentation is going
to be a little bit different. Not what you would
normally get on a Wednesday night. But I hope it will
be helpful to you.
I want to share with you three or four truths
which have changed my life. so, a lot of what I'm
going to say will be personal in nature. You may find
out somethings about me you didn't know along the way.
but I want to share with you what God has done in my
own heart and life. If you will really tune in and
listen carefully, especially our high schoolers and
our middle schoolers and our boys and girls. If you
will listen carefully, I believe the Lord will give
you some things that will be helpful to you.
In Philippians 2, as a place to start, it says,
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given
Him a name which is above every name. That at the name
of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven
and things in earth and things under the earth, and
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at
the age of nine. It was on a Sunday night in a church
in north Georgia. I was sitting on the second row,
right down at the front. I have never seriously
doubted that experience. I do remember at the age of
16, when I was in the years of adolescence which are
known as the years of doubt, I had a period of time
when I questioned the reality of my salvation
experience. But beyond that I have not had serious
problems with doubt. Some believers have more
difficulty in that area than others. I did not.
