There are some things in life that shouldn't be that difficult or confusing. Have you ever noticed how some of the simplest things in life can quickly become complicated for uncomplicated people? Things as simple as opening a medicine bottle or bottle cleaner can become an ordeal in itself. Some of you may be more advanced than I am and have greater dexterity but the directions on those bottles can be difficult to follow - push, squeeze, turn and pull. Those are not the only complicated directions we find in life. I read about a hair stylist who was excited when her new hair-dryer hood finally came. As she opened it, on the hood, were printed these easy to install direction. They said, 'just clamp. Plug, push, squeeze, or turn.'

For people giving or writing instructions I think the K.I.S.S. method should be followed. Instructions should be clear, easy to understand and simple to follow.

We not only need to be careful in how we give instructions but how we receive and act on instructions. We need to make sure we listen long enough and understand enough before we act on them or we could be like this one man.

This man and his friend were out in the woods of New Jersey on a hunting trip when his friend falls to the ground with his eyes rolled back in his head, clutching his chest and appears to stop breathing. Terrified he whips out his trusty cell phone and calls the emergency services.

My friend is dead! What can I do?'' he cries over the phone. On the other end of the line a very calm and soothing voice says, ''Don't panic and take it easy, I can help. First, let's really make sure he is dead....'' Before the operator has a chance to say another word, she hears the phone being put down in the grass and then a single shot is heard and the man picks up the phone and says, ''Okay now what?''
