There is a Cure! (4 of 9)
Series: Elisha
Jim Perdu
2 Kings 4:38-44
Today, we continue a series on the life of Elisha. It's a series entitled A Life of Amazing Faith. When we place our faith in God, we will see Him work in miraculous and amazing ways.
Today, we see God use his prophet Elisha to perform another miracle. If you'll remember, the moment God commissioned Elisha he hit the ground running. He had prayed for a ''double portion'' of the spirit that was upon Elijah. And everywhere he turns, he is seeing God do amazing things.
In 2 Kings 4:38-44 we see two more miracles that God performed through Elisha. As we read our text, I want you to remember this sermon subject, There is a Cure! READ TEXT
Now, Stephanie and I have an understanding in our marriage. We are a team. We work together to accomplish everything that needs to be done. Who does the yard work? We do. Who does the house work? We do. Who disciplines the kids? We do. Who pays the bills? We do. Who does the cooking? She does! And we're all better off for it. No doubt, if I did the cooking, we would come very quickly to a situation like we see here in 2 Kings. All the kids would be on the floor, writhing in pain saying, ''Dad, your cooking is killing us!''
But, as I'm sure you know, there's much more to the story here than just someone being a bad cook. This was a deadly situation that required a miracle to overcome. God was using his prophet to once again show His power and provide deliverance.
And today, we see that even when a deadly plant was ingested that God provided a cure. I want you to know today, no matter what you face, no matter what problems you encounter, no matter what poison you have taken in, There Is A Cure!
The desperate situation: 38
Explanation
If you will remember, the moment Elisha received his calling and saw Elijah ride off in a blaze of glory, he got busy doing the work of God. We see miracle after miracle being performed by the power of God ...
