2) Question: How much of your time should you spend thinking about money?
a) We'd likely come up with lots of answers, but what is the right answer?
b) Answer: Just enough to manage it well, but not enough to let it consume you.
c) Big idea: We worry less about money when we focus more on God.
i) They are two ends of a spectrum
ii) The more you do one the less you'll have of the other
d) Most of us have experience with worrying about our money
i) Story of foreclosure/short sale
ii) Here's the deal: it felt like the world was ending
iii) But I'm still here!
iv) I've learned that even when your financial situation looks great, worry is still available to you
e) Today I want to unpack some things Jesus said about money and worry
3) Matthew 6:19-21 ''Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.''
